Senator Bill Weber celebrated Chanukah by spreading joy and light to children with disabilities, their families, and caregivers across his 38th New York State Senate District and beyond. In addition to attending public candle lightings throughout his district, Senator Weber made special visits to several renowned disabilities organizations during the holiday.
On Monday, December 23rd, Senator Weber participated in Ohel’s Chanukah Party at Ateres Chynka. He joined Assemblymember Simcha Eichenstein and Kalman Yeger to speak to attendees, expressing his ongoing commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and their dedicated caregivers.
The following week, on Monday, December 30th, Senator Weber traveled to Brooklyn to visit Hamaspik of King’s County’s Shvesterheim on 49th Street in Boro Park. He personally interacted with the residents, who greeted him with posters and speeches prepared specially for his visit. Senator Weber distributed Chanukah chocolate coins, bringing smiles to all present.
Later that evening, the Senator attended the HASC Center Chanukah Party at Ateres Golda. Speaking to attendees from nearly 45 group homes, Senator Weber emphasized his dedication as the ranking member of the Senate Disabilities Committee. He shared his vision for improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers.
The Senator’s Chanukah celebrations will conclude on Sunday, January 5th, the same day he is sworn in for his second term, with a visit to Agudath Israel’s YAHALOM Chanukah Party in his home district.
“These gatherings highlight the incredible work of our community organizations and the bright spirit of individuals and families living with disabilities,” said Senator Weber. “As we light the menorah this season, I’m reminded of the resilience and strength that illuminate our community year-round.”
