Senator Bill Weber has expressed strong support for the federal government’s decision to end congestion pricing, a policy he has long opposed as unfair to Rockland County commuters.
“Thank you to President Trump and his administration for ending congestion pricing,” Weber stated. “Rockland County has been treated like an ATM for the MTA for far too long, and we refuse to be a doormat any longer.”
Weber, who has prioritized the fight against the controversial toll since his campaign for the New York State Senate, emphasized the need to ensure congestion pricing does not resurface in the future.
“Now, we must ensure that congestion pricing remains a thing of the past—for the sake of our hardworking Rockland County commuters,” he added.
The decision marks a significant victory for Weber and other local leaders who have argued that the toll would place an undue financial burden on suburban commuters traveling into New York City.
