Satmar Kehilla Marks Kevias Mezuzah at New School Building on South Madison Avenue

In a joyous ceremony reflecting the growth and vitality of the Satmar community in Monsey, the Kevias Mezuzah took place this past Sunday at the newly completed Satmar school building on South Madison Avenue in Spring Valley, New York. The event was graced by the presence of the Satmar Ruv of Monsey, Rabbi Chaim Shia Halberstam, along with key donors and community leaders.

The expansive new facility, designed to accommodate over 1,500 children, represents a significant milestone for the community’s educational infrastructure. Construction was recently finalized, allowing the school to open its doors promptly following the Sukkos holiday, ensuring uninterrupted learning for the upcoming year.

New York State Assemblyman Aron Wieder (District 97) was invited to join the proceedings in recognition of his instrumental support. Wieder assisted the school in coordinating with utility providers Veolia and Orange & Rockland (O&R), resolving critical issues to facilitate the timely opening. His efforts were pivotal in overcoming logistical hurdles related to essential services.

During the event, Rabbi Halberstam thanked Assemblyman Wieder for all the efforts in supporting the mosdos and extended warm wishes for his continued success in public service, enabling him to assist communities across the district.

This past Friday, Assemblyman Wieder was specially invited to ceremonially turn on the switch for the building’s electricity, marking a key step in activating the new facility.
