The Satmar Kehilla in Monsey is celebrating a significant milestone in its growth and development. For years, the Beis HaMedrish in the Union area has operated out of a rental location. Recently, plans were announced to acquire property for a larger, purpose-built shul. On Monday, those plans took a major step forward with the announcement that a contract has been finalized for the property located at 49 Twin Avenue, Spring Valley.
The new facility will feature a magnificent 12,000-square-foot shul designed to meet the needs of the ever-expanding Kehilla. The building will include multiple Heichlei Hatfilah, a Beis Horaah, a beautifully designed Mikvah, and numerous other amenities aimed at serving both the community and the broader neighborhood.
The initiative has received the blessings of esteemed Satmar leaders, including the Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg, HaRav Zalmen Leib Teitelbaum, and the Satmar Monsey Rav, HaRav Chaim Shea Halberstam. Both expressed their heartfelt wishes to see the Beis HaMedrish completed with splendor and to have it flourish as a beacon of Torah and Tefillah.
