Rumors Circulate About Potential One-Way Conversion for Herrick and Decatur Avenues in Ramapo

Over the past few days, WhatsApp groups have been abuzz with rumors suggesting that the Ramapo town board has approved a new traffic plan, making Herrick Avenue and Decatur Avenue one-way streets.

In response to these rumors, Monsey Scoop contacted Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht for clarification. Supervisor Specht explained that while the Ramapo Police Department and the town’s engineer have indeed recommended this change to the town board, no final decision has been made.

Before any decision is finalized, the town plans to meet with residents living on Herrick Avenue and Decatur Avenue to gather their input and opinions. According to Supervisor Specht, this meeting is likely to take place after Shavuos. As of now, despite the circulating rumors, no official approval has been given for the proposed changes.
