Rockland Task Force on Water Resources Management Welcomes New Coordinator

The Rockland County Legislature and County Executive have announced the appointment of Nicole Laible, MPAP, as the new Coordinator for the Rockland Task Force on Water Resources Management. Chairing the Task Force is Legislator Beth Davidson, who also serves as Chair of the Environmental Committee. Davidson, along with Water Conservation Coordinator Ariana Polanco, MPH, and Laible, will lead efforts to address Rockland’s pressing water conservation and sustainability challenges.

Laible, an experienced environmental planner, brings a strong background in conservation and natural resource management. Previously serving as Principal Environmental Planner for Westchester County, she expressed her enthusiasm for building upon the Task Force’s foundational work and collaborating with the community to advance a County Water Plan. Polanco will focus on implementing the 2020 Water Conservation Plan, a key priority for the Task Force.

The group will tackle significant objectives, including managing DEC grants for conservation strategies and watershed assessment, forming partnerships with regional stakeholders, and identifying additional funding opportunities. A public meeting to present updates will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers in New City. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the Task Force’s vision for ensuring Rockland’s water security.
