In a touching act of solidarity, Duvid Blau a Rockland Hatzolah member known as (RH-142) found himself stranded in Eretz Yisroel due to the ongoing war and subsequent suspension of flights to New York. Instead of retreating in fear, he took an unexpected step towards promoting peace and unity.
Blau, who is usually known for his medical expertise, drove to near the Gaza border amidst the ongoing tensions from Hamas attacks. There, he facilitated putting on tefillin for over 50 Israeli soldiers. The moment proved emotional for many, as some soldiers, teary-eyed, admitted they hadn’t worn tefillin since their bar mitzvah.
This heartwarming gesture serves as a testament to the human spirit’s ability to bring light even in the darkest of times.
