Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the County Department of Public Transportation have announced that the free TOR Weekend Ferry Connection bus service has officially resumed, providing convenient transportation for passengers using Metro-North’s Haverstraw-Ossining Weekend Ferry.
The service, which restarted on Saturday, June 21st, operates every weekend through October 12th. It connects ferry passengers to destinations across Rockland County, including downtown Haverstraw, West Haverstraw, Garner Arts Center, Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, downtown Nyack, and the Palisades Center in West Nyack. The bus meets all ferry arrivals and departures at the Haverstraw Ferry Landing on both Saturdays and Sundays.
“Rockland County is happy to be able to once again host visitors from around our region, thanks to the return of Metro-North’s Haverstraw-Ossining Weekend Ferry Service,” said County Executive Ed Day. “With the TOR Weekend Ferry Connection bus service, visitors can travel from the Ferry Landing to destinations and attractions throughout Rockland County and beyond.”
In addition to regular service, this year includes three extra evening trips to accommodate passengers needing return transportation after ferry service ends. Riders can use the Hudson Link bus from Tarrytown Station to reach Nyack or Palisades Center, where they can transfer to the TOR bus between 7:07 pm and 8:19 pm. Departures from Haverstraw at 8:05 and 9:05 pm allow passengers to connect back to the Hudson Line via Nyack or West Nyack.
The service operates from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, offering 25 trips each day—13 southbound and 12 northbound. It is operated by Transdev Services, Inc. on behalf of the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation and remains completely free to the public.
