The Rockland County Task Force on Water Resources Management will host a virtual Winter Webinar on source water protection on Monday, December 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The online event is open to the public, but preregistration is required in order to receive the meeting link.
The program will open with remarks from Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson, who serves as Chair of the Rockland County Water Task Force. That will be followed by a presentation on the Water Task Force kickoff timeline and membership actions from Nicole Laible, Task Force Coordinator, and Ariana Polanco, Water Conservation Coordinator.
A special presentation on Local Source Water Protection Plan development will be delivered by Orangetown Town Supervisor Teresa Kenny and Lauren Bunce of the Hudson Valley Regional Council. Another featured segment, “Protecting Source Water Through Land Acquisition,” will be presented by Kevin McGuinness of the Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources.
There will be opportunities for public engagement, with time set aside for questions. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance, and there will also be a live Q&A portion during the webinar. The session will be recorded and later posted to the Task Force’s YouTube playlist for those unable to attend live.
