Rockland County Upgrades Disaster Preparedness Plan, Seeks Public Input for Federal Funding Eligibility

Rockland County is taking proactive steps to enhance its disaster resilience by updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. This initiative is crucial to maintain eligibility for federal funding aimed at rebuilding and recovering stronger after natural disasters.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan outlines strategies to reduce vulnerability to natural hazards and minimize their impact. To ensure it aligns with community needs, Rockland County is seeking input from residents and stakeholders through the Hazard Preparedness Survey, available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RocklandPublicSurvey.

Participation in the survey allows residents to identify hazards, propose mitigation strategies, and contribute to a more resilient Rockland County. By securing federal funding through an updated plan, the county can better prepare for and respond to disasters, protecting lives and infrastructure.

Rockland County urges all residents to complete the survey, working together to build a more disaster-ready community.
