The Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources is rolling out several exciting updates aimed at improving accessibility and engagement with local parks.
Starting March 3rd, the county will launch a new Digital Park Permitting System, allowing residents to obtain park permits online and make payments via credit card. This transition to an online system, in partnership with Community Pass, is expected to streamline the process and enhance user convenience. A direct link to the new system will be shared once it goes live.
In addition to the permitting system, the Division of Environmental Resources is in the early stages of revamping its webpage on the Rockland County website. The update aims to provide residents with the most accurate and up-to-date information about the county’s parks and environmental initiatives.
As part of efforts to foster greater public appreciation for Rockland’s natural spaces, the county will soon introduce a monthly feature called “Get to Know Your Parks.” This initiative will showcase different county parks, offering residents informative content, photos, and videos to highlight each park’s unique offerings.
The Division is also seeking community input on potential new programming. Officials are considering guided walks and hikes led by Park Rangers and are encouraging residents to share their thoughts and suggestions for improving county parks.
For those interested in participating or providing feedback, the Division invites public input through its communication channels. Stay tuned for more details as these exciting changes unfold.
