The Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services Technical Rescue Team conducted an intensive high-angle training session this past weekend, focusing on rappelling and simulated victim-rescue operations on the exterior of the county’s Fire Operations Building.
The hands-on drill is part of the team’s ongoing advanced training program, designed to ensure responders remain fully prepared for complex rescue scenarios. High-angle rescues require specialized skills, equipment, and coordination, and officials say regular training is essential for maintaining readiness when lives are at risk.
County officials praised the team’s dedication to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement as they work to protect Rockland residents in all types of emergencies.
