The Rockland County Emergency Management Division announced that its Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) live test conducted Friday has successfully concluded.
County officials thanked residents, partner agencies, and visitors for their cooperation and patience during the exercise, noting that such tests are essential to ensuring the County can quickly and reliably disseminate life-saving information during emergencies.
Wireless Emergency Alerts are designed to deliver urgent messages directly to mobile phones during severe weather, public safety threats, and other critical incidents. Officials emphasized that public awareness and preparedness play a vital role in keeping Rockland County safe and resilient, and that ongoing testing helps strengthen the reliability of the emergency alert system when it is needed most.
