Rockland County Stop DWI Office Presents Stop DWI 2023 Awards at Annual Mid-Hudson Luncheon

The prestigious Mid-Hudson STOP-DWI Coordinators Awards Luncheon was convened on Wednesday at The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown, New York, where notable law enforcement officers from Rockland County were honored for their exceptional efforts in DUI enforcement.

At the event, Officer Robert Barba and Officer John Genito of the Ramapo Police Department received the 2023 “Top Cop” awards for Rockland County. Both officers have been celebrated for their significant contributions to DUI enforcement in the Town of Ramapo.

Dr. Albert Del Principio, Ed.D., the Rockland County STOP DWI & Traffic Safety Coordinator, expressed his profound gratitude to the officers for their dedication. “Our law enforcement officers have demonstrated their commitment to protecting our community through their diligent efforts in DUI arrests. Their actions undoubtedly save lives,” he stated.

Also acknowledged at the luncheon were Rockland County Sheriff’s Deputies Michael Sacchi and Vincenzo Rotundo, along with Village of Spring Valley Police Department Officer Jennifer M. Tolentino and Village of Piermont Police Department Officer Shannon Hansen. New York State Police Troopers Michael McGreevy and Jake Werdesheim from Troop F in Haverstraw were also recognized as Rockland County’s Top Troopers of 2023.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Ramapo Police Chief Reilly and Captain Hyman, with STOP-DWI Coordinator Albert Delprincipio presiding over the awards. Although Officer Genito was absent from the photo, his contributions were highly acknowledged.
