Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New Radio Operator to 911 Communications Division

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office announced the successful completion of training by Megan Castro, its newest Radio Operator in the 911/Communications Division.

Castro completed more than 1,000 hours of intensive study and supervised practice through the division’s nationally accredited training program, which included both classroom instruction and live, on-the-job training. As part of the process, she also passed four national certification exams, qualifying her to serve in this critical public-safety role.

A resident of West Haverstraw, Castro is a graduate of North Rockland High School and previously attended Rockland Community College and SUNY Westchester Community College.

Officials praised her dedication and achievement, welcoming her to the communications team and congratulating her on reaching this important milestone in her career.
