The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies made 12 separate DWI arrests between November 26th and November 30th during an intensified holiday traffic safety initiative.
The enhanced enforcement effort—timed with heavy Thanksgiving Week travel—focused on identifying impaired motorists and reducing alcohol- and drug-related crashes on local roads. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the arrests underscore the agency’s continued commitment to protecting the public from preventable, high-risk driving behaviors.
“Driving while intoxicated is a preventable crime, and we will continue to take strong action to protect our residents,” the department said.
Officials are reminding drivers that impaired driving endangers everyone on the road. Motorists are urged to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, or use ride-share options during the holiday period.
The Sheriff’s Office says increased DWI enforcement will continue throughout the holiday season.
