Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Enhances 911 Services with New CTO Certification

In a significant step towards enhancing emergency communication services, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office has successfully hosted the APCO International Communications Training Officer (CTO) certification program. Organized by the Communications Division under the designation 07-2024-CTO-07, the program saw active participation from five dedicated Radio Operators, all from the evening shift.

The week-long training session was led by Lee Sentell, CPE, ENP, a seasoned Radio Communications Specialist. Under Sentell’s expert guidance, the participants engaged in rigorous training aimed at elevating the standards of 911 service within the county.

This initiative underscores the commitment of these public safety professionals to continually improve the level of service provided to Rockland County residents. Their dedication and newly acquired skills are set to make a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the county’s emergency response capabilities.
