A joint investigation by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the County Department of Consumer Protection has resulted in the arrest of 48-year-old Christian C. Kolarz of Nyack on multiple felony charges.
Kolarz was charged with Forgery in the Second Degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree following an investigation into a counterfeit Rockland County Home Improvement License he allegedly created to fraudulently secure project financing.
The forged license was uncovered through the coordinated efforts of the Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Consumer Protection investigators. Kolarz was arrested on April 18th, arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on May 12th.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day praised the collaboration, noting that the swift action protected potential victims and sent a strong message against fraud. Sheriff Louis Falco emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation in safeguarding the community from deception, while Consumer Protection Director Kimberly Von Ronn warned that the misuse of official county documents would not be tolerated.
Officials say the case highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting residents and businesses from fraudulent activities.
