Rockland County Sewer District Secures $1 Million EPA Grant for Vital Infrastructure Upgrades

Rockland County Sewer District is set to enhance its wastewater treatment operations with a $1 million grant from the EPA, awarded for the district’s Screening Improvements Project. This funding will replace outdated mechanical bar screens and upgrade the screenings building, improving efficiency and reliability at the treatment facility.

The grant, facilitated by the support of Congressman Mike Lawler and Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, marks a critical investment in local infrastructure. With the existing equipment beyond its useful life, these upgrades are essential for the continued environmental health of the community.
