Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Sheriff Louis Falco have announced the approval of two significant grants from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. These grants, totaling $635,907, aim to bolster law enforcement capabilities and enhance community preparedness across the county.
The first grant, amounting to $376,931, is allocated under the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program. The funding will be directed towards law enforcement training, procurement of personal protective equipment, and supporting the operations of the Rockland County Police Network.
The second grant, totaling $258,976, is awarded through the State Homeland Security Program. This grant will be utilized for the maintenance and sustainment of critical equipment and to provide personal protective equipment for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
The funding will enhance the safety and preparedness of law enforcement and emergency response teams, strengthening their ability to protect Rockland County residents. These resources will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and readiness in the face of evolving threats.
