DSS Commissioner Joan Silvestri, along with Rockland County Executive Ed Day, endorsed a resolution to accept $787,019 in grant funds from CARES of NY, Inc. for the Continuum of Care Program.

These funds will be allocated towards the execution and management of the program, which aims to foster a community-wide commitment to ending homelessness.

The program also provides financial support for initiatives focused on rapidly rehousing homeless individuals and families, as well as promoting access to mainstream programs that help enhance self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.
