Rockland County Receives $325,800 Grant for Lead Prevention Program

Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Community Development Director Alexandra Obremski have signed a resolution approving a $325,800 grant from the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation. The grant will fund the Leading in Lead Prevention Pilot Program, aimed at addressing lead hazards in older housing units.

The allocated funds will be used for lead remediation in buildings constructed before 1980 that contain two or more units. The focus will be on units inspected by the Rockland County Department of Health through the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) and CLPPP Plus programs.
