Rockland County Receives $1.25 Million for Storm Drainage System Reconstruction in State Grants Announcement

Governor Kathy Hochul’s recent announcement of nearly $23 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) includes a significant allocation of $1.25 million for the village of New Square in Rockland County. This funding is designated for the crucial reconstruction of the storm drainage system, aimed at eliminating flood-induced hazards and ensuring the safety of the local community.

These grants, distributed to 33 village, town, and county-wide applicants across New York State, encompass a wide range of projects, from comprehensive planning studies to essential infrastructure improvements like sewer and water main replacements. Governor Hochul expressed her commitment to supporting communities, emphasizing the importance of building, preserving, and stabilizing local areas.
