Rockland County continues to make strides in environmental sustainability with the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. According to the Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources, there are now more than 500 public charging ports available across the county — many of which operate 24/7.
Among the recently highlighted locations are the Town of Ramapo Highway Department in Suffern and the Ba Mar Community Housing complex in Stony Point. These stations provide convenient and accessible options for EV owners throughout the county.
The announcement is part of the Environmental Management Council’s (EMC) Green Spotlight Initiative, which aims to highlight environmental successes and encourage further eco-friendly practices among Rockland County residents.
Officials credited both public and private agencies for their collaboration in increasing the number of charging stations and helping move Rockland toward a cleaner, greener future.
