Rockland County, with a population of 337,326, was recognized for its urban setting and high-performing economy. The county achieved an impressive public safety score of 93.86 on a 100-point scale. One of the key factors contributing to this high score was the county’s per capita spending on health and emergency services, which outperformed many other regions.

Despite its high public safety score, Rockland County’s overall ranking among U.S. counties was 289, with an overall score of 68.62. The report underscores Rockland County’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for its residents.
