Rockland County Mourns the Passing of Former County Official and Spring Valley Judge Vincent “Vince” Altieri

Rockland County is mourning the loss of Vincent “Vince” Altieri, a longtime public servant and respected Spring Valley Judge whose career spanned nearly two decades of dedicated work in county and state government.

Altieri began his service to Rockland County in 2007, joining the County Executive’s Office as Director of Intergovernmental Relations. He later went on to lead the Rockland County Drainage Agency, where he served as Executive Director for approximately 14 years, playing a key role in overseeing environmental and infrastructure initiatives that benefited communities across the county.

Before joining county government, Altieri worked with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), where he was widely respected for his commitment to environmental protection and responsible land management. In addition to his government service, Altieri also served as a Village Justice in Spring Valley, where he was known for his fairness, professionalism, and dedication to justice.

Friends and colleagues remembered Altieri as a hardworking, principled, and kind individual whose contributions left a lasting mark on Rockland County.

The community extends heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
