Rockland County Executive Ed Day has ordered flags at all Rockland County government buildings to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the American service members who were killed while serving overseas this weekend.
In a statement, Day expressed his condolences to the families, loved ones, and fellow service members of those who lost their lives.
“The men and women of our Armed Forces willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day,” Day said. “This weekend, our nation suffered a heartbreaking loss with the deaths of American service members serving overseas.”
He added that lowering the flags serves as a tribute to the fallen heroes and their sacrifice.
“We will never forget the sacrifices they made in service to our nation, and we remain forever grateful for their courage, commitment, and unwavering dedication to protecting our country,” Day said.

At least Rockland County is doing the right by our brave armed forces members. Troops whose senseless deaths were caused by an egomaniacal presidential impersonator and a shameful cowardly congress.
May they rest in peace.
