Rockland County legislators, nonprofit leaders, and other elected officials gathered Monday morning at the Rockland County Legislature to voice support for the proposed Dignity and Safety for All Act, a measure aimed at limiting county cooperation with federal immigration enforcement under specific circumstances.
The press conference, held at the Legislature chambers on New Hempstead Road, focused on outlining the intent and scope of the proposed local law, which would restrict county agencies from cooperating with federal immigration activities unless there is a judicial warrant or an active criminal investigation.
Supporters of the legislation cited recent national events and concerns over immigration enforcement practices as factors behind the proposal. Legislators Alden Wolfe, Beth Davidson, Dana Stilley, Jesse Malowitz, along with Public Safety Committee Chair Paul Cleary, introduced the measure and spoke about its goals.
Officials noted that the proposal mirrors legislation adopted in Westchester County in 2018 and emphasized that it is designed to protect Rockland County residents while remaining compliant with judicial warrants and existing law.
Also participating in the event was Westchester County Legislator David Imamura, along with nonprofit leaders and additional elected officials, who outlined why they believe the measure is necessary at this time.
The proposed Dignity and Safety for All Act is expected to be the subject of further discussion within the Legislature in the coming weeks.

A bunch of clowns
We should just ignore these progressive liberals
There is a saying
“On the head of the thief , the hat is burning”.
If they are scared of ice they is not a good sign.
What are we supporting, just to remove eleagel criminals that killed, robbed, rapped,
WE ARE PROUD TO SUPPORT “ICE”
and remember these criminals get funded by our hard working money
County cooperation with ICE is essential in order to keep Rockland safe. Criminal illegal aliens need to be sent home.
Criminal offenders yes-ppl seeking a better life no!!!
Our ancestors came here to seek a better life probably illegally-let’s never forget that-and make an effort to treat others as we would want to be treated
