Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services has kicked off its annual summer daytime firefighter recruit class, offering a unique opportunity for students to train during regular daytime hours. Typically held on nights and weekends, this special summer session is designed for those who wish to make the most of their time off from school.
This year, 20 determined recruits have enrolled in the intensive program, which runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The training is physically and mentally demanding, preparing participants for the realities of emergency response and public safety work.
Officials say they’ll be closely following this class throughout their journey as they train, learn, and develop into the next generation of firefighters ready to serve Rockland County and beyond.
