Rockland County Launches ‘Rockland Thinks Differently’ Initiative, Advocating for Inclusion and Enhanced Accessibility for Individuals with Special Needs

Rockland County Executive Ed Day was joined by Office for People with Disabilities Director Jacki Scott and members of the Rockland County Disability Advisory Council (DAC) to adopt its initiative “Rockland Thinks Differently.”
Modeled after Dutchess County, the initiative promotes awareness and acceptance of all people and advocates for the inclusion of individuals with special needs. We call upon business owners and residents to join us in this initiative to show their support for children and adults with special needs, and their families by making facilities and services more accessible and on how to train staff to welcome and support special needs customers and co-workers.
