Rockland County has announced the formation of an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Sustainability Task Force, which will develop a new countywide EMS Plan in response to a new New York State mandate.
Rockland County handles approximately 86,000 EMS calls each year, and the task force will conduct a comprehensive review of the county’s current emergency medical services system to help ensure residents continue to receive high-quality, reliable, and responsive care. The effort will also include collaboration with EMS agencies and other stakeholders to exchange best practices and identify long-term solutions for a sustainable EMS system.
The task force’s kickoff meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Rockland County Fire Training Center Auditorium, located at 35 Firemens Memorial Drive in Pomona.
County officials said they welcome the participation of invited members and their designees and look forward to working collaboratively to create an effective and sustainable EMS system that will serve Rockland County residents for years to come.
