In honor of the 50th anniversary of EMS Week, a time to show gratitude to EMTs and paramedics who provide lifesaving care for our communities, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County EMS Coordinator Desiree Leone-Stoll are inviting the public to events celebrating our first responders.
The EMS Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 19, at 4:00 PM, at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, 35 Firemen’s Memorial Drive, Pomona, NY, where the county will recognize several providers for their outstanding work.
Before the awards ceremony, at 12:00 PM, there will also be a Youth EMS Competition for youth squads to compete in EMS skills. This competition will feature eight Ambulance Corps youth squads demonstrating their expertise in two scenarios.
The events highlight the dedication, compassion, and high-quality prehospital care provided by Rockland County EMS Providers, who work around the clock to meet the community’s needs during medical emergencies.
At the 4:00 PM Awards Ceremony, special recognition will be given to various individuals, including longtime Rockland Hatzolah EMS member and Chaverim of Rockland volunteer, Shlome Eliezer Simkowitz (RH-64), in appreciation of their dedication and service.
