Rockland County Health Officials Urge Residents To Get Vaccinated Against Flu, Covid-19 & Rsv During National Flu Vaccination Week

As National Influenza (Flu) Vaccination Week runs from December 6th–12th, the Rockland County Department of Health is reminding residents to protect themselves against the “triple threat” of respiratory illnesses: Influenza, COVID-19, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

“Getting your annual vaccinations can reduce the risk of illness, hospitalization, or death,” said Dr. Mary Leahy, Rockland County Commissioner of Health. “Young children, pregnant people, adults 65 and older, and anyone with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or heart and lung disease face a higher risk of severe complications. It is important that individuals in these groups get vaccinated.”

Health officials emphasize that vaccines take approximately two weeks to build full immunity, making now an important time to get protected ahead of holiday gatherings.

RSV, a common respiratory virus, typically causes cold-like symptoms but can lead to severe illness in infants and older adults. Vaccination provides an added layer of protection as residents head into peak holiday season.

Flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines are widely available at pharmacies or through local healthcare providers.

The Health Department also encourages residents to continue following good hygiene practices to help prevent the spread of viruses: avoid close contact with sick individuals, stay home when ill, cover coughs and sneezes, wash hands frequently, and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Additional healthy habits—like adequate sleep, physical activity, good nutrition, hydration, and managing stress—also support overall protection. Masking remains an optional tool that can reduce transmission, particularly when used by someone who is already sick.

  1. These injections cause exactly what they are claimed to prevent and cause significant harms and death. ZERO vaccines were ever double-blind or placebo tested for safety or for efficacy. DO NOT ever accept any of these poisons.
