Rockland County Funds Complete Streets Project to Enhance Walkability

Rockland County has announced funding for a new Complete Streets initiative aimed at promoting walking and other active forms of transportation to reduce traffic and pollution. The project will focus on improvements across the county, including the installation of new sidewalks on Highview Road, a notably busy area.

The project has garnered substantial support from local government officials. Rockland County Executive Ed Day, alongside Rockland County Legislature Chairman Jay Hood Jr., Minority Leader Lon Hofstein, Budget and Finance Committee Chair Aron B. Weider, Public Policy & Intergovernmental Relations Director Stephen Powers, and Highway Superintendent Skip Vezzetti were all present at Highview Road, marking the commencement of the project.
