Rockland County Fire Recruits Continue Intensive Daytime Training

Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services’ Daytime Recruit Class spent Monday honing critical firefighting skills as part of their ongoing training program.

In the morning session, recruits learned how to properly don their protective gear and operate their Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), essential for providing clean air in hazardous environments.

During the afternoon, the focus shifted to mastering key fire service knots—techniques used for hoisting tools, securing equipment, and other essential fireground operations.

These hands-on exercises are vital steps in preparing the recruits for the challenges they will face as firefighters.
