As the Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) program in Rockland County draws to a close, the latest class of recruits wrapped up their training with essential lessons in Hazmat Operations. The comprehensive course included specialized instruction on gas safety and response, provided by the experts at Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc.
In addition to gas safety, recruits also received hands-on training in spill control techniques, equipping them with the skills necessary to address hazardous situations effectively and safely. These final sessions are critical in ensuring that our future firefighters are prepared to handle a wide range of emergencies with confidence.
