Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services Officials Issue Safety Reminder About Downed Power Lines {VIDEO}

Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services is urging residents to stay alert and practice caution around downed power lines as part of its ongoing public safety campaign.

Officials emphasize that all downed lines should always be treated as live and extremely dangerous. Residents are advised never to touch or drive over a downed line, and to keep children and pets at a safe distance from any such hazard.

Authorities also stress the importance of reporting dangerous conditions. If you encounter a downed line, contact your utility company immediately — and dial 911 in an emergency.

County officials say preparedness and awareness are key to preventing serious injuries. The safety campaign aims to ensure all Rockland residents stay informed and vigilant, especially during periods of severe weather.
