Rockland County Executive Honors Green Meadow Waldorf Student for Innovative Environmental Project

Rockland County Executive Ed Day awarded Madeline Abrams, a junior at Green Meadow Waldorf School, with an Award of Recognition for her innovative rainwater harvesting system. This project, named “Harvest Every Drop,” aims to protect and preserve the environment by increasing rainwater collection using existing surfaces and upcycled plastic water bottles. The collected water is intended for use in vegetable gardens, farms, and landscapes.

Madeline has showcased her water harvesting system to various rotary clubs across the United States and internationally, including in several African countries. Most recently, she conducted an Earth Day Zoom presentation for public libraries in the area to share her project with local patrons.
