County Executive Ed Day has announced the appointment of Ivett Nuñez Arias as the new Director of Community Relations. She steps into the role previously held by Jenna Nazario, who was named the Director of Economic Development and Tourism in 2024.
Arias brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having most recently served as a Senior Program Review Assistant within the Rockland County Youth Bureau. In that capacity, she managed service contracts and assisted organizations in navigating grant opportunities, among other responsibilities.
As Director of Community Relations, Arias will serve as a vital link between Rockland County government and its nonprofit partners, addressing community concerns, assisting residents in accessing government resources, and fostering collaboration with local organizations.
“I am proud to announce Ivett Nuñez Arias will join our Community Relations efforts, working closely with our longtime Director of Community Relations Myrnia Bass-Hargrove to further strengthen the County’s connection with our residents,” said County Executive Day. “Her experience, qualifications, and recent completion of our County Emerging Leaders Program make her well-equipped to excel in this role and help drive Rockland forward.”
The role of Community Relations Director extends beyond public outreach. Arias will analyze community issues, coordinate with County departments to address concerns, and meet with local leaders to develop solutions that enhance services for residents.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the position, Arias stated, “I am excited about the opportunity to build positive relationships with the public, County departments, and community organizations. I look forward to applying my communication and problem-solving skills to improve the effectiveness of services for Rockland County residents.”
The position comes with an annual salary of $106,000.
“Ivett is an excellent addition to our team, and I am confident she will help guide this administration down the right path,” concluded County Executive Day.
