Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Sheriff Louis Falco Approve $116K for License Plate Readers

Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Sheriff Louis Falco have approved an additional $116,179 in funding for the purchase of license plate readers. The devices will be installed at key ingress and egress points across the county, as well as in high-traffic areas within towns and villages.

The funding aims to bolster public safety by enhancing law enforcement’s ability to monitor and track vehicles in real-time. Officials expect the new technology to aid in crime prevention and response efforts. Installation is set to begin in the coming months as part of the county’s ongoing security initiatives.
