The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office is highlighting one of its most unique and valuable members this month—K9 Remy, an electronics detection dog whose specialized skills are helping investigators uncover critical digital evidence. Coinciding with the recognition, Remy is also celebrating her birthday.
Remy is trained to locate hidden electronic devices such as cell phones, USB drives, and other digital storage units, tools that often contain key evidence in modern investigations. In an era where crucial information is frequently stored electronically, her capabilities have become an essential asset to law enforcement efforts.
According to officials, Remy is one of approximately 130 K9s nationwide with this highly specialized skillset. She has assisted in more than 20 search warrants and has worked alongside multiple agencies, including the Haverstraw Police Department, Stony Point Police Department, Spring Valley Police Department, New York State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the New York City Police Department.
Prosecutors say Remy’s work continues to play a key role in advancing investigations across Rockland County and beyond.
Happy Birthday, Remy.
