Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced that Blanchard Glaudin, 31, who is homeless, has pleaded guilty to Murder in the Second Degree, the sole count in an indictment stemming from the 2020 killing of Sandra Wilson, a security guard at the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley.
Glaudin entered the guilty plea on December 9, 2025, before Judge Djinsad Desir in Rockland County Court. During the proceeding, he admitted that on February 18, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m., he fatally stabbed Wilson in the chest and body inside the library, causing her death.
Judge Desir indicated he would sentence Glaudin to 20 years to life, though prosecutors recommended a term of 25 years to life.
“This defendant pled guilty to the senseless killing of a library security guard, a well-respected member of her community,” DA Walsh said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family.”
Glaudin faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. He has been remanded without bail to the Rockland County Jail and is scheduled for sentencing on February 26, 2026.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Dominic Crispino.

Why not give him the death penalty and save money?
