Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II, announced that Oscar Garcia-Garcia, 30, of Spring Valley, has been sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison following his conviction for murder. The sentencing took place on July 2, 2025, before Rockland County Court Judge Kevin F. Russo.
Garcia-Garcia was convicted of Murder in the Second Degree in March after a three-week jury trial. The charges stemmed from the fatal stabbing of 54-year-old Luis Pinduisaca-Villa in the early hours of December 29, 2022.
According to prosecutors, Garcia-Garcia encountered the victim at a bar in the Village of Spring Valley on the evening of December 28, then waited for him to leave. Around 1:00 a.m., he followed and fatally stabbed Pinduisaca in the throat with a large kitchen knife. The victim’s body was discovered shortly after by a passerby, who alerted authorities.
An investigation by the Spring Valley Police Department, with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, led to the recovery of blood evidence, clothing, and the murder weapon near the crime scene. Garcia-Garcia was interviewed later that day and admitted to the stabbing.
The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Kathleen Devlin and Executive Assistant District Attorney Michael Peterson.
