Rockland County Commits to 100% Green Electricity with Direct Energy Business LLC

County Executive Ed Day has approved a resolution to provide 100% green electricity for Rockland County, investing $2,951,897 in the initiative. Direct Energy Business LLC was awarded the contract as the lowest responsible bidder, as determined by Purchasing Director Paul Brennan.

This decision reflects Rockland County’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainability. By transitioning to green electricity, the county aims to lead by example and inspire similar efforts in neighboring areas.
