Rockland County Buildings Illuminate in Red to Honor Fallen Firefighters During National Memorial

Rockland County has announced its participation in the “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters” event, which will take place from May 1st to May 5th. This event is part of a nationwide tribute to fallen firefighters, marking the 25th anniversary of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

During the five-day event, two key buildings in the county will be illuminated in red. The Allison-Parris County Office Building, located on New Hempstead Rd. in New City, and the Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services building will both participate in the tribute. The red lighting serves as a symbol of remembrance and respect for firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to join in the commemoration and to learn more about the significance of the event and the heroes it honors. Further details can be found at the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s official event page.
