The Rockland County Public Transportation Department has announced changes to transit services for the upcoming X-Mas holidays. On Monday, December 23, Metro-North Hudson Line trains will run on a regular schedule with early getaway trains. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate its 6:52 a.m. service, but the 7:08 a.m. ferry will be available, connecting to trains arriving at Grand Central Terminal at either 8:26 a.m. or 8:39 a.m. NJ Transit’s Main/Bergen-Port Jervis line and Coach USA Rockland Coaches will also offer early getaway options, with schedules available online.
On X-Mas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, Transport of Rockland (TOR) buses and TRIPS paratransit buses will maintain their regular weekday schedules. Coach USA Rockland Coaches, Coach USA Shortline, and Hudson Link buses will operate on holiday schedules, while Monsey Trails advises riders to check their website or call for service details. Clarkstown Mini Trans will run on its usual weekday schedule. Metro-North Hudson Line and Port Jervis Line trains will operate with some early getaway trains and minor schedule modifications. Similarly, NJ Transit’s Main/Bergen and Pascack Valley Lines will include additional services. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will again skip its 6:52 a.m. service, replacing it with the 7:08 a.m. ferry.
On X-Mas Day, Wednesday, December 25, TOR buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on routes #59, 91, 92, 93, and Loop 3, while services on routes #94, 95, and 97 will be suspended. TRIPS paratransit buses will provide ADA service only, with regular TRIPS services unavailable. Coach USA Rockland Coaches, Coach USA Shortline, and Hudson Link buses will follow holiday schedules, and Monsey Trails will operate on a special holiday timetable. Clarkstown Mini Trans will not operate. Metro-North Hudson Line trains will run a modified schedule, and Port Jervis Line and NJ Transit’s Main/Bergen and Pascack Valley Lines will offer weekend service. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not run.
Services on Thursday, December 26, will return to normal for most transit systems. TOR buses and TRIPS paratransit services will resume regular operations, while Coach USA Rockland Coaches and Shortline will continue with holiday schedules. Monsey Trails will follow its Chanukah schedule. Hudson Link buses, Clarkstown Mini Trans, Metro-North Hudson Line, and Port Jervis Line trains will operate regular weekday schedules with some minor modifications. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will again skip its 6:52 a.m. departure, running the 7:08 a.m. service instead.
