ROADWORK ALERT: Night Construction Resumes on Route 9W for CHPE Project

Starting Friday, August 1st, roadwork will resume along Route 9W from Congers to Stony Point as part of the ongoing Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) project.

To reduce traffic disruptions, the majority of construction will take place overnight, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with limited daytime activity. The work is expected to continue through November.

The CHPE project involves building a 339-mile transmission line, primarily underground and underwater, to transport clean hydroelectric power from Quebec, Canada to New York City.
