ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: Mountain Avenue in Monsey to Close for 5–6 Weeks for Water Main and Drainage Work

The Town of Ramapo Highway Department has announced a full road closure on Mountain Avenue beginning Monday, October 20th, as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement project.

Crews will also be working in the area of Highview and Nelson, where eastbound and westbound traffic will be alternated while work progresses through the intersection. Once the project moves past Highview, Nelson will be fully closed to traffic during work hours.

The closures will be in effect Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and are expected to last approximately five to six weeks.

The work includes the installation of new water main service and drainage piping, with the goal of completing the underground infrastructure before winter weather sets in.

Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area during construction hours.
