Ribbon Cutting Held for New Pe’er Bais Yaakov Campus on Route 306 Near Boar Court {PHOTOS & VIDEOS}

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this afternoon at the new campus of Pe’er Bais Yaakov on Route 306 near Boar Court in Monsey. The event marked the official opening of the state-of-the-art facility and was attended by community leaders, parents, and supporters of the school.

Among those in attendance were Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, State Senator Bill Weber, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, and Rafi Silverberg, senior advisor to Congressman Mike Lawler, who all joined school leadership in celebrating the milestone.

The event featured remarks highlighting the importance of continued investment in local education and the growth of Monsey’s community institutions, followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting in front of the new building.

While I am all in favor of this development, my concern is the almost total abhorrence of the very frum Jewish community’s attitude towards secular subjects especially math and the sciences, and even to a degree secular literature, music and philosophy. I believe such studies not only enhance our awe for the Creator, increase our wisdom, but allow for the Jewish people not to rely on gentile government assistance, but to earn respectful livelihoods.
