Today, the Village of Spring Valley celebrated the grand opening of its newest recreational area with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, community leaders, law enforcement and residents. The park, which had long been an underutilized piece of land, has been transformed into a vibrant pocket park through a $200,000 grant from Rockland County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The park is located at 142 Old Nyack Turnpike, Spring Valley, NY 10977 at the corner Kennedy Drive.
The newly opened park promises to serve over 200 families in the neighborhood, providing a much-needed green space for relaxation and play. Village officials expressed their excitement about the park’s potential to enhance the community’s quality of life.
This development follows a detailed bidding process initiated in August 2023. Key figures in the project included then-Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach and Paul Brennan, the Director of Rockland County Purchasing, who, along with other officials, conducted a site inspection. During this walkthrough, various companies presented their proposals to revitalize the park area.
Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach shared his enthusiasm: “This new playground will be a wonderful addition to our community, providing a safe and enjoyable space for our children to play and grow.”
